West Vancouver Child Photographer | Whytecliff

Being a child photographer is a pretty special job….one that I love.  There is this time in children’s lives that is fleeting and it is so important to capture.  The magic of being able to look back at images and feel the memories they invoke.  The memory of the way they smiled at that age, the way they loved inspecting flowers…and ate them too ;), their shy smile or gregarious giggles can be captured forever.  Forever!  How cool is that?  A child photographer has a big responsibility for sure…..yes you could go to a shoot and take pictures and likely the family will be pleased but you can be way cooler and connect with the family, see them and their love and then have the ability to show that back to them in a magical format that lasts forever.  What?!  It’s true….a print of a moment….a print of your love is priceless.

I met this new family in West Vancouver at Whytecliff park.  Their little guy is a special little soul – he has deep eyes and a beautiful smile.  He loved grabbing the little buttercups and smelling and tasting them – he has the best expressions – smiles and frowns.  His parents, Corey and Bree are clearly so in love and enamoured with him.  Obviously.  They’ll have to look back at these pictures when he crashed the car or talks back for the first time 😉  It was such a pleasure to hang out with these three for the afternoon and I feel so lucky that my job gives me opportunities like this.  Thanks guys for choosing me as your child photographer.  I am so honoured and appreciative.

Lighthouse Park | West Van Family Photographer

photocrati galleryLighthouse Park | West Van Family Photographer

This shoot has been a long time coming….about a year I think.  🙂  But so worth the wait – super adorable kids, fun parents and a Dad tricked into being in the pictures!  That’s all you need folks!

Anyways, we met at Lighthouse park in West Vancouver and were lucky enough to have a gorgeous day.  The trails were super pretty and seeing the Lighthouse is always a bit magical.  We didn’t do many posed pictures but captured the fun, warm, lovingness of this family playing together.  Even the little guy who was super shy at first warmed up enough to smile and hold my hand – heartbreaker 🙂

His sister loved getting her picture taken and had lots of great ideas for them – love littles who collaborate…makes my job super easy.

Enjoy these images, I sure loved capturing them.  Thanks for picking me to be your photographer 🙂

Ambleside Family Pictures

I always have a great photographing this lovely family.  I first met them at Gymboree when Aiden was just a year old…since then I have photographed them at least once a year.  A few years later along came Damien, who is now 3!  I feel a bit old 😉  Aiden and Damien are super cute and always are well behaved and listen – yay!  They make my job super fun & easy.  Their parents are super easy going too and always have great ideas for images.  Arieanna does super cool things with the images, like art collages, Christmas cards and calendars.  She also uses some of them on her blog, Active Mama.  A great resource for all you North Shore Mamas 🙂

This shoot we met at Ambleside Beach in West Van to do their family pictures.  A cool spot is over by the train bridge – it adds a neat industrial feel to the images as well as giving the option of pretty scenery images too.  We lucked out and got most of the shoot in prior to the torrential rain fall 🙂

Thanks for having me capture your family!

Backlit family Session

I love sessions with this family – I have been taking their pictures since little Oliver was a newborn.  I love being able to capture a family as they grown and change, it is such a compliment to be trusted to be the one to save these memories for them.  Oliver was the chattiest I have ever seen him and wanted to run and play and giggle…ok, twist my arm.  His happiness shine through these images, just as how much he is loved does. Christine and Will obviously take such joy in him…and who wouldn’t.  He is such a beauty.  We met at a special little spot outside of town that I love to shoot at.  (Thanks Beth & Rochelle for finding it with me)  It is perfect light morning or evening and the surroundings cannot be beat.  The Pacific, a slow river, train bridge, mountains and wild life – yes pls!! We met at about 9am and the sun was just cresting over the mountains, a great time for me as I really like to backlight my images….you may have noticed a few backlit images if you’ve looked at my blog before 🙂  Thanks for checking out this fun session!
